The invention discloses a battery pack system with an embedded cell monitor and a method thereof. The battery pack includes a battery cell and a cell monitor embedded in to each cell of the battery pack. The cell monitor inspects corresponding cell respectively. When an abnormal status (such as, an overtemperature status and / or an excessive pressure status) is inspected, the corresponding cell monitor generates an alert signal to the battery pack. The receiver in the battery pack receives the alert signal and generates a drive signal to the battery manage unit. The battery manage unit perform a corresponding protection action to protect the battery pack from being damaged in an abnormal status. Comparing with prior art, monitor precision of the cell in the battery pack is increased and the abnormal status of the cell is responded rapidly.
