Embodiment Construction

[0011] The preferred embodiment method enables easy random access in the AVS-M video bitstream by providing a random access indicator in the nal_unit_type field for more than one access unit (AU) where decoding the IDR does not require a previous access unit information. Figure 3 shows the Random Access Indicator (RAI) in the decoded sequence.

[0012] The preferred embodiment system can perform the preferred embodiment methods on any of different types of hardware: digital signal processors (DSPs), general purpose programmable processors, dedicated circuits, or systems on chips (SoCs), such as DSPs and RISC processors on the same chip. Programs stored in on-board ROM or external flash EEPROM for DSP or programmable processor can perform signal processing for encoding and decoding. Analog-to-digital converters and digital-to-analog converters provide the connection to the real world, and modulators and demodulators (plus antennas for the air interface) provide coupling for th...

Abstract

Random access indicator as a nal_unit_type in video compressed with AVS-M for an access unit not requiring prior access unit information for decoding an IDR.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to video coding. Background technique [0002] The AVS-M part of the Chinese Audio Video Coding Standard (AVS) addresses the needs of video on mobile networks. In the AVS-M video compression standard, a compressed video bitstream consists of more than one access unit (AU, access unit), and each AU contains information for decoding an image. An AU consists of many NAL (Network Abstraction Layer) units, some of which are optional. As shown in Figure 1, the NAL unit can be a sequence parameter set (SPS), picture parameter set (PPS), SEI (supplementary enhancement information), picture header or slice_layer_rbsp (original byte sequence load), the slice_layer_rbsp consists of slice_header (slice header) composed, slice_header followed by slice data (that is, a number of macroblocks, one of which contains a 16x16 luma block and corresponding two 8x8 chroma blocks for 4:2:0 chroma format). In the byte format bitstream, the NAL...
