The alumina / aluminum titanate porous ceramic is prepared by mixed powders, deionized water and a binder, wherein, the mixed powders include nano-alumina and nano-titania. The preparation method comprises: firstly, weighting raw materials, and mixing the materials to obtain a slurry; secondly, re-granulation to the slurry for obtaining a nano-composite powder; thirdly, heat treatment to the nano-composite powder; and fourthly, insulating and sintering the nano-composite powder obtained after the heat treatment to gain the alumina / aluminum titanate porous ceramic.
