An electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitive element, an anode and a cathode terminal, and a case enclosing the capacitive element such that at least a portion of the anode and cathode terminals are exposed and extend outward from opposite ends of the case. Each terminal includes an upper surface facing the capacitive element and a lower surface facing away from the capacitive element.
