Abstract

A wireless communication system using pilot allocation, method and pilot pattern thereof are disclosed. The method is applied for allocating pilots for transmission of multiple pilot streams in a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation. In embodiment, the pilot allocation are applied in contiguous frame structure, andtwo pilots are allocated for each pilot stream in frame structure comprising 18 subcarriers and 6 OFDM symbols. The 8 pilot streams are grouped into two pilot stream clusters, and pilots for each pilot stream cluster are grouped into two pilot clusters. Four pilot clusters are then allocated in first frame structure, and the allocation of the pilot clusters in second frame structure corresponds to those in first frame structure. Therefore, better transfer rate in such wireless communication system can be achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and method using pilot signal configuration and its pilot signal pattern, in particular to a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation for multiple A method for configuring pilot signal subcarriers for a pilot signal stream. Background technique [0002] Currently, research and development in the field of next generation wireless communication systems is aimed at providing higher data rates than existing systems. In general, reference or pilot symbols at higher data rates are often present in wireless communication devices and systems for initial time and frequency synchronization, cell identification and channel Estimate homework. Channel estimation is the process of compensating for signal distortions caused by rapid environmental variations due to transmission signal fading and restoration. Therefore, an O...
