Abstract

The invention discloses a passive remote control unit and a remote control method. The passive remote control device comprises an antenna for receiving a first electromagnetic wave and emitting a second electromagnetic wave, and a surface acoustic wave sensor coupled with the antenna for converting the received first electromagnetic wave into a surface acoustic wave and converting the surface acoustic wave after processing into the second electromagnetic wave which is emitted by the antenna based on a remote control action. Based on a controlled device in the invention, the remote control method comprises the following steps: emitting the first electromagnetic wave; receiving the second electromagnetic wave which is delayed to be reflected back; and identifying the remote control action based on the second electromagnetic wave which is delayed to be reflected back and generating a corresponding remote control command based on the identified remote control action. The remote control unit in the invention utilizes the surface acoustic sensor to realize passive remote control so as to achieve full miniaturization and simplification and low manufacturing cost.
