Abstract

The invention provides a bitmap management and node collection inquiry method in a P2P(peer-to-peer) system, as well as a P2P node and an index server. The bitmap management method in the P2P system provided by the invention comprises the following steps of coding a sub-block set of obtained specific files by adopting a Bloom algorithm to form report information, sending the report information to the index server by the node, and maintaining the bitmap information of the specific files by the index server according to the report information. According to the invention, the interactive bitmap mass between the node and the index server can be reduced, the mass of the bitmap information stored in the index server is decreased, and the computing cost of determining a node set by the index server according to the bitmap information is lowered, thereby the performance of the system is improved.
