Abstract

The invention provides a light source system and a light-emitting diode drive method for improving static discharge capability. The light source system includes a light-emitting diode unit and a drive unit. The light-emitting diode unit is provided with at least one light-emitting diode string and the light-emitting diode string works under a direct current output voltage. A drive unit couples with the light-emitting diode unit to provide the direct current output voltage. The drive unit also drives the light-emitting diode string according to a predetermined signal and decides whether to provide a static discharge path to release static discharge current generated by a static discharge incident according to a comparison of a voltage drop of the light-emitting diode string and a predetermined reference voltage.
