[0039] figure 1 A side view of vehicle 100 is depicted. The example vehicle 10 includes a tow unit 110 and a trailer 112 . The vehicle can be a heavy vehicle such as a truck or a bus. The vehicle may alternatively be a passenger car. Vehicle 100 is a motor vehicle with an automatic transmission. Vehicle 100 has an automatic clutch and may be without a clutch pedal.

[0040] The term "link" here refers to a communication link, which may be a physical connection such as an optical communication line, or a non-physical connection such as a radio connection, such as a radio link or a microwave link.

[0041] figure 2 Subsystems 299 of the vehicle 100 are described. Subsystem 299 is arranged in traction unit 110 . Subsystem 299 has engine 230 . Engine 230 may be an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine may be an engine with 6 cylinders. The internal combustion engine can alternatively have 4, 5 or 8 cylinders. The internal combustion engine may be ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for improving the drivability of a motor vehicle (100; 110) with a driveline. The method comprises the step of comparing a first signal (S3; S3*) with a second signal (S4), where the first signal (S3; S3*) contains information about a torque (TQ-max; TQ-maxmod ) which can be generated by an engine (230) of the vehicle (100; 110) at a prevailing speed (RPMmom ) of the engine (230), and the second signal (S4) contains information about a torque (TQ-req ) requested from the engine. The method comprises also the step of selecting an engagement speed (RPMin) of the engine (230) for an automated clutch (235) in the driveline of the vehicle (100; 110) on the basis of said comparison between the first signal (S3; S3*) and the second signal (S4). The invention relates also to a system for improving the drivability of a motor vehicle and a computer programme product comprising programme code (P) for a computer (200; 210) for implementing a method according to the invention. The invention relates also to a device and a motor vehicle equipped with the system.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for improving the drivability of a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a computer program product comprising program code for a computer for carrying out the method according to the invention. The invention also relates to a system for improving the drivability of a vehicle, and to a motor vehicle equipped with this system. Background technique [0002] Some vehicles now have automatic transmissions. These vehicles generally do not have a conventional clutch pedal, but are equipped with a control unit adapted, in particular automatically, to control the engine and the clutch of the vehicle's drive train. [0003] When setting the vehicle into motion, it is necessary to determine the speed of the vehicle's engine that is appropriate in several respects during closing of the clutches in the driveline. The speed developed by the engine during closing of the clutch is known in the art as the clutch engagement s...
