Abstract

The invention provides a conformal forging process of an inverted saddle-shaped forge piece. A flange is manufactured by heating, upsetting, drawing, punching and forging a steel ingot. An upper die and a lower die are closed, then are hung on a movable platform, and next are moved to a press operating platform. After a dovetail groove formed on the upper die is directly connected with a press, a lubricant is coated into an inverted saddle-shaped mould cavity constituted by the upper die and the lower die. The press is lifted to separate the upper die from the lower die; then the flange which is preheated to the temperature of 1,180-1,200 DEG C is placed on the lower die; the press is dropped to close the upper die and the lower die; pressure is maintained for 5-10 minutes; and the forge piece is taken out, is thermally treated at the temperature of 880-920 DEG C for 1.5-2 hours and is then cooled to little allowance for machining to obtain an irregularly shaped main steam inlet connecting pipe. The problems of height lowering and inaccurate die closing and positioning existing in the conventional mould forging are solved, the height of a blank is not increased, the raw material is saved, and the cost is low.
