The invention provides the RS485-MVB gateway based on VxWorks, the gateway can be comprehensively applied to a communication interlink between an RS485 bus and an MVB bus and has the advantages of stable and reliable performance and low communication error rate. The technical scheme provided by the invention comprises that: the hardware system of the RS485-MVB gateway comprises a central processing unit (CPU) subsystem, a memory subsystem, an MVB communication subsystem, a power supply subsystem and other communication interface subsystems; a 32-bit reduced instruction set computer (RISC) COLDFIRE processor is adopted to construct the gateway and operate a VxWorks embedded real-time operating system; and the RS485-MVB gateway is connected with communication equipment having the RS485 bus through the RS485 bus and is switched in an MVB network through a standard MVB interface by communication protocol conversion.
