Abstract

The invention relates to a fuel delivery device comprising an electrically driven delivery pump (10) and at least one high-pressure pump (16) having at least one pump element (22). Fuel is delivered by the delivery pump (10) to the intake side of the high-pressure pump (16) and fuel is delivered into a high-pressure region (18) by the high-pressure pump (16). A sensor device (44) provides a signal for the pressure present in the high-pressure region (18) to an electrical control device (46), by means of which the electrical drive (14) of the delivery pump (10) is variably actuated. A bypass connection (40) to a low-pressure region (12; 17) leads from the connection (xx) between the delivery pump (10) and the intake side of the at least one high-pressure pump (16). At least one throttle location (42) is provided in the bypass connection (40) and the electrical drive (14) of the delivery pump (10) is variably actuated by the electrical control device (46) for adjusting a prescribed pressure in the high-pressure region (18).
