Abstract

The invention discloses a dual-home-supported ring network method based on virtual private local area network (LAN) service (VPLS) and G8032. The method comprises the following steps of: forming an Ethernet ring network which comprises a plurality of pieces of equipment and adopts a G8032 protocol, wherein at least two pieces of equipment are connected with each other through a VPLS network; monitoring whether certain equipment in the Ethernet ring network fails; if the certain equipment fails, starting a G8032 protection switching mechanism; and deleting all pieces of media access control (MAC) address information which are learnt by the equipment in a VPLS domain from a G8032 Ethernet ring network. By using the G8032 as an access ring of a network, dual homes access the VPLS domain of a transmission network; and during protection switching of the G8032, protection switching of flow in the whole VPLS domain can be correspondingly finished, so that the fast protection switching of the whole network is finished.
