The method includes the following steps that a generator standalone infinite system model is built, and trace sensitivity of generator parameters on measurement signals under different types of excitation signals is calculated; according to the trace sensitivity, corresponding types of the excitation signals are selected to be used as reference excitation signals corresponding to the generator parameters, and the strength and lasting time of the reference excitation signal are set; according to the set strength and the lasting time, the reference excitation signals are exerted on the generator; and according to disturbance data generated when the reference excitation signals are exerted on the generator, parameter identification is conducted on the generator parameters corresponding to the reference excitation signals.
