The present invention relates to a nickel-metal hydride accumulator for industrial application, comprising: a nickel hydroxide positive electrode, a metal hydride negative electrode separated from the nickel hydroxide positive electrode, and an alkaline electrolyte surrounding the electrode. In order to propose improved nickel-metal hydride accumulators compared to the prior art and in particular insensitive to temperature influences, the invention proposes a nickel-metal hydride accumulator with a thermal device (19) which means (19) increasing the specific heat capacity of said accumulator and formed by an additional electrolyte volume (8), wherein said accumulator comprises a casing (2) of plastic material and a pressure relief valve (4), said casing (2) containing The electrodes (5, 6) and the electrolyte solution (9).
