Abstract

The invention discloses a visible light communication system, which is used for data transmission between portable devices. The system comprises at least one first portable device (1) and at least one second portable device (2), wherein the first portable device at least comprises a light-emitting diode (LED) lamp (3); the on / off state of the LED lamp in a timing sequence refers to data to be transmitted; the second portable device at least comprises an optical inductor (4); the optical inductor can induce the on / off state of the LED lamp in the timing sequence so as to receive the data which refer to the on / off state; and the LED lamp can consist of a white light LED. According to the system, the configuration of the portable device is not required to be increased, and the highest data transmission rate can reach 1Gbits / s; and therefore, the visible light communication system has the advantages of low cost and high efficiency.
