[0179] 1.1. Examples 1 and 2: Compositions based on beheneth-10:

[0180] a- Composition and preparation method:

[0181] Hair relaxing compositions according to Examples 1 and 2 were prepared as follows (see Table 1):

[0182] Part A of Example 1 contained 28 g of water and Part A of Example 2 contained 30 g of water.

[0183] To prepare Part B of Examples 1 and 2, cetearyl alcohol and beheneth-10 were melted at 70°C in the presence of liquid petroleum jelly.

[0184] Finally, for Part C of Examples 1 and 2, a 30% sodium hydroxide solution was prepared by dissolving sodium hydroxide pellets in water.

[0185] Part A and Part B were heated with stirring at 70°C for 10 minutes. The mixture was then cooled to 40°C, and Part C was added to the previous mixture with stirring.

Abstract

The present application relates to a cosmetic composition for relaxing keratin fibres, comprising an alkaline agent, a fatty phase made up of fatty substance(s), the amount of fatty substance being greater than or equal to 52% by weight, relative to the total weight of said composition, and at least one surfactant in an amount of greater than or equal to 5% by weight, relative to the total weight of said composition. The application also relates to a method for relaxing keratin fibres using this composition, and also to the use of this composition for relaxing keratin fibres.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to the field of alkaline relaxation of keratin fibers. Background technique [0002] Many individuals with very curly or curly hair desire to have straight hair. One method that has the potential to relax these types of hair consists of alkaline hair relaxers. [0003] Alkaline hair relaxers consist of hydrolyzing the keratin of the hair with a strong alkaline agent such as an inorganic hydroxide, such as sodium hydroxide, or an organic hydroxide, such as guanidine hydroxide. The compositions used generally have a pH range of from about 12-14. Treatment by such compositions therefore often results in damage to the keratin fibers and often also causes scalp discomfort when using these compositions. [0004] The use of alkaline hair relaxing compositions is known in the prior art, in particular in application US 4,237,910. This patent describes an alkaline hair relaxing composition comprising from 3% to 50% fatty mater...
