Abstract

The invention discloses a BMC (baseboard management controller) loop test method comprising the steps as follows: controlling a serial port of a computer to send a pulse signal to an electronic switch, triggering a power source of a server to turn on when the electronic switch receives the pulse signal, and monitoring the starting situation of BMC in the server through a port on the server; when successfully accessing BMC within a default in a remote way, and judging that BMC is successfully started, controlling the serial port of the computer to send the pulse signal to the electronic switch again; when the electronic switch receives the pulse signal, triggering the power source of the server to turn off; and judging whether the loop test time is up to the default or not, if so, displaying the test information onto a display screen of the computer. The invention further provides a BMC loop test system. The automatic loop detection for the BMC power source aging test can be realized in an alternating current environment.
