[0020] figure 1 shows a high-pressure pump 1 for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, which is preferably intended for a common rail injection system of an internal combustion engine. The fuel is delivered under pressure by the high-pressure pump 1 to a not-shown accumulator (rail), from which fuel is injected in a targeted manner via fuel injectors into the associated combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine. The high-pressure pump 1 forms a radial piston pump which is inserted as a plug-in pump with a plug-in pump body 2 into a motor body 3 or its housing. Also connected to the plug-in pump body 2 is a low-pressure unit 4 called a cylinder head. A drive shaft rotatable in the engine block 3 with an axis 5 is connected to an eccentric 6 whose center axis 7 has an eccentricity S relative to the axis 5 . The drive shaft can be a shaft of the internal combustion engine, for example its camshaft or differential shaft.
