Abstract

The invention discloses a BBO (barium boron oxide) crystal based non-linear frequency doubler which is used for generating doubled frequency in a resonant cavity. The non-linear frequency doubler comprises a first BBO crystal, a polarization direction rotating device and a second BBO crystal, the second BBO crystal is rotated by 90 degrees along a light-transmitting direction, and then the second BBO crystal and the first BBO crystal are disposed on two sides of the polarization direction rotating device symmetrically. By the aid of the non-linear frequency doubler, parameters of the first BBO crystal and the second BBO crystal are exactly the same, so that after fundamental-frequency light experiences for multiple periods, frequency-doubling conversion efficiency of the fundamental-frequency light is compensated excellently, lengthening degree of frequency-doubled light spots along the direction of a line segment AB is tend to be consistent with that of the frequency-doubled light spots along the direction of a line segment AD, and the frequency-doubled light spots are presented as good circles; therefore, the frequency doubler can achieve high frequency-doubling conversion efficiency and good frequency-doubled light beam quality.
