Abstract

The invention discloses a message processing method and device. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a message from an exchange device in PTN (packet transport network) equipment; determining a transmission channel for transmitting the message to a SDH (synchronous digital hierarchy) network; transmitting the message to the SDH network through the transmission channel. The message processing method provided by the invention can realize message match between the PTN network and the SDH network by determining the message transmission channel and transmitting the message to the SDH network through the transmission channel, so that the PTN message can be transmitted to the SDH network smoothly to realize seamless link between a PTN domain and a SDH domain. Additionally, the method can be well suitable for services with different bandwidths provided by the exchange device, is flexible in processing manner, and can save bandwidth on the communication link between the message processing device and the SDH equipment, so that more services can be transmitted via a certain physical channel to reduce unnecessary bandwidth waste.
