The invention relates to an electronic device with 2D / 3D switching shooting function and a switching shooting method. The electronic device includes a 3D processing unit used for performing 3D processing on 2D images transmitted by a front camera and a rear camera; a rotating unit used for enabling the front camera to rotate to face a position of right astern; and a conversion switch unit which includes two ends, wherein one end is fixedly connected with the front camera and the rear camera and the other end is selectively connected with the 2D processing unit and the 3D processing unit respectively. At a position where the front camera faces the right astern, the conversion switch unit switches selective connection of the 2D processing unit to selective connection of the 3D processing unit so that information of the 2D images shot by the front camera and the rear camera is transmitted to the 3D processing unit for processing and thus the 3D shooting function is started. The electronic device and the switching shooting method are capable of switching the 2D / 3D shooting functions so as to allow users to select a fond shooting mode and thus functionality of the electronic device is increased.
