Embodiment Construction

[0055] Identical components in different figures always bear the same reference numerals, so that they are likewise generally described only once.

[0056] figure 1 A transverse sectional view is shown of a first embodiment of an electric power steering system 1 according to the invention for a vehicle (not shown), in particular a motor vehicle. The power steering system 1 includes a motor drive unit 2 having a motor housing 3 , a motor shaft 4 , a first bearing 5 and a second bearing 6 for mounting the motor shaft 4 , and a bearing plate 7 for accommodating the first bearing 5 . The second bearing 6 is fixed in place on the motor housing 3 at least in the radial direction.

[0057] Such as figure 1 As seen in FIG. 1 , the motor shaft 4 drives the worm 8 , which meshes with a worm wheel 10 accommodated in the transmission housing 9 . The worm 8 is connected to the motor shaft 4 in one piece or by means of a coupling, wherein in the latter case the coupling holds the worm 8 ...

Abstract

The present disclosure provides an electric power assisted steering system for vehicles. The system comprises an electric motor drive (2) having a motor housing (3), a motor shaft (4), at least a first bearing and a second bearing (5,6) for mounting the motor shaft (4) and at least one bearing plate (7,19) for receiving one of the first and second bearings (5). The other (6) of the first and second bearings is fixed in place on the motor housing (3) in a radial direction. The system further comprises a worm gear shaft (8) which is driven by a mtor shaft (4) and is engaged with a worm gear (10) that is accommodated in a transmission housing (9). The bearing plate (7,19) is mounted on the motor housing (3) in an elastic manner by means of at least one elastic element (11) such that the motor housing (3) can tilt with respect to the bearing plate (7,19).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an electric power assisted steering system for a vehicle, especially a motor vehicle. Background technique [0002] Electric power steering systems, in particular those systems which utilize the principle of superimposed torques and those which utilize the principle of superimposed steering angles, are known in practice in various designs. The motor is generally mounted in a motor housing. The driven shaft and / or motor shaft of the electric motor is connected to a coaxial worm gear shaft either as one component or by coupling. The worm meshes with a worm gear wheel, which is usually mounted in the transmission housing and which itself is used to drive the steering system. In the case of electric power steering systems utilizing the principle of superimposed torques, the term "drive" is understood to mean the application of torque in order to drive the steering system and / or the application of an auxiliary torque in order to r...
