The base station configures a channel number calculation parameter according to the number of channels and complete channel numbers of the channels and the base station broadcasts and sends the channel number calculation parameter to the mobile station. When the mobile station needs to use reduced channel numbers, according to the received channel number calculation parameter, complete channel numbers are converted into reduced channel numbers through a hash function algorithm and then the reduced channel numbers are sent to the base station. The base station restores the reduced channel numbers into the complete channel numbers through table look-up after receiving the reduced channel numbers. The algorithm converts the complete channel numbers which are longer in bit number into the reduced channel numbers which are shorter in bit number so that resources occupied by the communication transmission channel numbers are greatly saved.
