To mix the suspension, the suspension is conveyed via the inlet cross section 2 into the mixing device 1 , for example by means of a pump. At the inlet cross-section 2 , the mixing device 1 has a nozzle 4 whose inlet coincides with the inlet cross-section 2 . The flow cross section of the nozzle 4 tapers in the direction of flow as far as its nozzle outlet cross section 5 , wherein the flow of the suspension is accelerated when flowing through the nozzle 4 . The length of the nozzle 4 is thus the acceleration path 6 , which is selected such that a jet of suspended matter is formed at the nozzle outlet cross section 5 .
