Abstract

The invention aims at providing a method and equipment for packet acoustic echo cancellation. The method comprises the following steps: echo cancellation equipment acquiring source voice packet streams on both terminals of a phone line; determining transfer direction information corresponding to each data packet; updating target packet streams corresponding to both terminals of the phone line in an independent cache manager according to the source voice packet streams; performing PAEC (packet acoustic echo cancellation) on the target packet streams according to each data packet and the corresponding transfer direction information thereof in the target packet streams so as to acquire a cancelled echo packet stream, and then sending the cancelled echo packet stream to the corresponding terminal in both terminals of the phone line. Compared with the prior art, the bidirectional packet acoustic echo cancellation is realized, the performance of a PAEC channel is exponentially improved, the hardware number and corresponding maintenance cost are reduced; and meanwhile, the call processing and related signaling expenditure are reduced, a transparent PAEC function is provided without any signaling support; and software can be utilized for realizing the independent cache manager so as to improve the flexibility of system processing and the system efficiency.
