Abstract

The invention discloses a device utilizing a common vertical lathe for machining the outer curved surface of a cam. The device comprises a lower base body fixed to a side knife rest slide pillow of the common vertical lathe. An upper base body is arranged on the lower base body. A screw is connected into a screw connecting lug of one side of the lower base body. The inner end of the screw is in threaded connection with the upper base body. A push rod is arranged in a push rod connecting lug of the same side of the upper base body in a penetrating mode. The large end of the push rod is guided by depending on a guide plate. A polish rod of the push rod is sleeved with a disc spring set. A small shaft is installed on the upper portion of the upper base body. A push plate is clamped between the small shaft and the push rod. The push plate is connected with a hanging plate upwards. The upper portion of the hanging plate is installed on a beam. A suspension arm, facing the direction of a working table, of the hanging plate is provided with an idler wheel. The idler wheel is installed in a profiling groove of a template downwards in a sleeved mode. The invention further discloses a method utilizing the common vertical lathe for machining the outer curved surface of the cam. The device and the method are simple and easy to implement, and utilize the common vertical lathe for machining the cam with low cost.
