Abstract

The invention relates to gas discharge lamps and provides a high-voltage sodium lamp. The high-voltage sodium lamp comprises an outer tube and an inner tube, wherein the inner tube is arranged inside the outer tube; the outer wall of the inner tube is coated with contact wires, which are composed of a longitudinal metal coil (11) and a horizontal metal wire (12); one end of the metal wire (12) is connected with the metal coil (11), and a ceramic assisting starter (2) is connected in series between the other end of the metal wire (12) and one end of the inner tube. The invention also provides the ceramic assisting starter. According to the technical scheme, the ceramic assisting starter comprises a ceramic tube with both ends sealed, and the ceramic tube is provided with a niobium wire and filled with inert gas. By means of the ceramic assisting starter, the firing voltage of a bulb can be reduced by shortening the distance among the contact wires. Therefore, the high-voltage sodium lamp has the advantages of being simple in structure and low in cost.
