Method and apparatus for at-speed testing of digital circuits

A scheme for multi-frequency at-speed logic Built-In Self Test (BIST) is provided. This scheme allows at-speed testing of very high frequency integrated circuits controlled by a clock signal generated externally or on-chip. The scheme is also applicable to testing of circuits with multiple clock domains which can be either the same frequency or different frequency. Scanable memory elements of the digital circuit are connected to define plurality of scan chains. The loading and unloading of scan chains is separated from the at-speed testing of the logic between the respective domains and may be done at a faster or slower frequency than the at-speed testing. The BIST controller, Pseudo-Random Pattern Generator (PRPG) and Multi-input Signature Register (MISR) work at slower frequency than the fastest clock domain. After loading of a new test pattern, a clock suppression circuit allows a scan enable signal to propagate for more that one clock cycle before multiple capture clock is applied. This feature relaxes the speed and skew constraints on scan enable signal design. Only the capture cycle is performed at the corresponding system timing. A programmable capture window makes it possible to test every intra- and inter-domain at-speed without the negative impact of clock skew between clock domains.

Instruction alignment unit for routing variable byte-length instructions

An instruction alignment unit is provided which is capable of routing variable byte length instructions simultaneously to a plurality of decode units which form fixed issue positions within a superscalar microprocessor. The instruction alignment unit may be implemented with a relatively small number of cascaded levels of logic gates, thus accomodating very high frequencies of operation. In one embodiment, the superscalar microprocessor includes an instruction cache for storing a plurality of variable byte-length instructions and a predecode unit for generating predecode tags which identify the location of the start byte of each variable byte-length instruction. An instruction alignment unit is configured to channel a plurality of the variable byte-length instructions simultaneously to predetermined issue positions depending upon the locations of their corresponding start bytes in a cache line. The issue position or positions to which an instruction may be dispatched is limited depending upon the position of the instruction's start byte within a line. By limiting the number of issue positions to which a given instruction within a line may be dispatched, the number of cascaded levels of logic required to implement the instruction alignment unit may be advantageously reduced.

The invention discloses a VHF (very high frequency) frequency-range intracloud lightning detecting and positioning system, which comprises a central treatment station and a plurality of detection and treatment sub-stations arranged in different positions, wherein the detection and treatment sub-stations and the central treatment station are accessed into a public wide area network in a wired or wireless mode; and through the wide area network, on one hand, obtained intracloud lightning detection data is uploaded to the central treatment station by the detection and treatment sub-stations, andon the other hand, the working state of each detection and treatment sub-station is remotely monitored by the central treatment station. The system can be used for precisely estimating the incidence directions of lightning radiation signals of a plurality of simultaneously occurring lightning radiation sources or the same lightning radiation source arriving at the detection sub-stations through different propagation paths, the arriving time difference of the lightning signals between any two detection and treatment sub-stations is calculated at the central treatment station (TDOA estimation),and the spatial position of an intracloud lightning radiation source is determined by DOA and TDOA information.

Multi-station lightning VHF (very high frequency) radiation source three-dimensional positioning method and system

The invention relates to the technical field of radar detection, in particular to multi-station lightning VHF (very high frequency) radiation source three-dimensional positioning method and system. The method includes: acquiring elevation of lighting arriving a single station through double antenna arrays vertically disposed at the single station, establishing an equation set by three or more single-station elevations, and calculating to obtain an occurrence three-dimensional spatial position of a flashing radiation source. The invention provides the lightning VHF radiation source three-dimensional positioning system based on the method. The system comprises at least three single stations and a data processing center. Each single station comprises a radiofrequency antenna array, a GPS (global positioning system) clock module, and a signal acquisition and processing module. Compared with the like prior arts, the method and system enable the detection range of the single station to be effectively enlarged, the antenna arrays and the data acquisition equipment to be simpler, and equipment cost and erection cost to be lower. The method and system are capable of detecting three-dimensional spatial evolution characteristics of lightning in large range, have the functions of early lightning warning, estimation on lightning danger area and fierce thunderstorm danger and the like, and provide effective information for lightning disaster prevention and severe convection weather warning.

Full-lightning positioning system with combination of very-low frequency and very-high frequency

The invention relates to a full-lightning positioning system with combination of very-low frequency and very-high frequency (VHF). The full-lightning positioning system is characterized by comprising at least four lightning positioning monitoring stations which are respectively provided with a very-low frequency lightning radiation receiver, a very-high frequency lightning radiation receiver, a GPS receiver and an industrial computer; the station utilizes time reference provided by the GPS receiver and obtains the time and waveform that the change pulse of a lightning electric field and VHF radiation pulse reach all the stations, utilizes the industrial computer to preprocess the obtained waveform data, then transmits the obtained data in real time to the industrial computer for analyzing and processing the pulse waveform by an internet, and realizes real-time monitoring and three-dimensional positioning to lightning discharge events. The invention discloses a UHF (Ultra High Frequency) broadband current sensor based on a Rogowski coil principle and a joint monitoring system, and belongs to the technical field of local discharge monitoring of cables. The magnetic core of the UHF broadband current sensor is partitioned into two half rings, and is made of an iron-based nanocrystalline alloy material; a winding is a copper lead which is 0.8 millimeter in diameter; a coil is of 15 turns. The joint monitoring system consists of the UHF broadband current sensor and a VHF (Very High Frequency) sensor, wherein the VHF sensor and the UHF broadband current sensor are used together for monitoring a running cable in real time; data are transmitted to an oscilloscope; the oscilloscope is connected with an industrial control computer. According to the UHF broadband current sensor, a local discharge signal can be calibrated, so that background noise interference can be eliminated effectively, and a local discharge waveform is extracted accurately. A detection test is performed on a middle joint of a real cable with local discharge in an experiment and on field, and a test result indicates that the sensitivity is below 10pV; interference signals can be reduced effectively; a basis is provided for the judgment of field personnel.
