A voice browser dialog enabler for multimodal dialog uses a multimodal markup document with fields have markup-based forms associated with each field and defining fragments. A voice browser driver resides on a communication device and provides the fragments and identifiers that identify the fragments. A voice browser implementation resides on a remote voice server and receives the fragments from the driver and downloads a plurality of speech grammars. Input speech is matched against those speech grammars associated with the corresponding identifiers received in a recognition request from the voice browser driver.

Dynamic adaptation of GUI presentations to heterogeneous device platforms

A system for dynamically adapting a presentation generated with a scalable application to a display screen of any of a plurality of heterogeneous device platforms is disclosed. The system includes a device platform and a transformation module. The device platform is one of the heterogeneous device platforms and includes a display screen. The device platform is operable to initiate generation of a hierarchical configuration representing a plurality of graphical user interface components. The transformation module is operable to selectively arrange the graphical user interface components on a page as a function of the hierarchical configuration. In the addition, the transformation module is operable to selectively transform the graphical user interface components to maximize the fill of the display screen by the page.

Firmware socket module for FPGA-based pipeline processing

A firmware socket module is deployed on a reconfigurable logic device, wherein the firmware socket module has a communication path between itself and an entry point into a data processing pipeline, wherein the firmware socket module is configured to provide both commands and target data to the entry point in the data processing pipeline via the same communication path, wherein each command defines a data processing operation that is to be performed by the data processing pipeline, and wherein the target data corresponds to the data upon which the data processing pipeline performs its commanded data processing operation. Preferably, the firmware socket module is configured to provide the commands and target data in a predetermined order that is maintained throughout the data processing pipeline. Also, the firmware socket module may be configured to (1) access an external input descriptor pool buffer that defines the order in which commands and target data are to be provided to the data processing pipeline, and (2) transfer the commands and target data from an external memory to the data processing pipeline in accordance with the identified defined order. Results of the processing by the data processing pipeline are also returned to external memory by the firmware socket module, whereupon those results can be subsequently used by software executing on a computer system.

Wheel type mobile fruit picking robot and fruit picking method

The invention discloses a picking method and picking robot device aiming at fruits which are in size of an apple and is similar to a sphere. The picking robot device comprises a mechanical actuating device, control system hardware and control system software. The mechanical actuating device comprises a picking mechanical arm, an underactuated manipulator, an electric sliding table and an intelligent mobile platform, wherein the control system hardware comprises an IPC (industrial personal computer), a motion control card, a data acquisition card, an AHRS (attitude and heading reference system), a coder, a monocular camera, a binocular camera, a force sensor, a slipping sensor and the like. During operation, the IPC fuses information of the coder, the AHRS, monocular camera components and an ultrasonic sensor to enable the mobile platform to independently navigate and avoid obstacles. A binocular vision system collects images of mature fruits and obstacles and extracts the characteristics of the images so as to realize obstacle avoidance of the mechanical arm and fruit positioning. Finally, the IPC fuses the information of the force sensor, the slipping sensor and the position sensor, thereby further reliably gripping the mature fruits and separating the fruits from fruit branches.

Speech emotion recognition method based on long short time memory network and convolutional neural network

The invention discloses a speech emotion recognition method based on a long short time memory network and a convolutional neural network. According to the method, a speech emotion recognition system based on LSTM (long short time memory network) and CNN (convolutional neural network) is constructed; with a speech sequence as input of the system, the LSTM and the CNN are trained by virtue of a back propagation algorithm and parameters of the networks are optimized, so that an optimized network model is obtained; and by virtue of the network model which is trained, the newly inputted speech sequence is emotionally classified into six emotions, namely being sad, being happy, being disgusted, being fearful, being scared and being neutral. The method, which takes two network models, namely the LSTM and the CNN, into comprehensive consideration, avoids cumbersome artificial selection and characteristic extraction, and the accuracy of emotion recognition is enhanced.

Common mode noise cancellation

A noise cancellation system configured to isolate and process a common mode noise signal to generate a cancellation signal. The cancellation signal is combined with a differential signal to cancel unwanted differential mode noise that coupled onto the differential signal. In one embodiment a multi-channel communication system utilizes two or more channels that are in close proximity to other alien channels. A common mode signal isolation unit is configured to isolate common mode noise. The common mode noise signal is processed with a filter or other means to generate a cancellation signal. The cancellation signal is combined with the differential signal to thereby cancel noise that coupled onto the differential signal. The processed common mode noise signal may be made to approximate the differential mode noise signal. The common mode signal may be obtained from a center tap of a transformer, or a sensing winding of a three winding transformer.

System and method enabling future messaging directives based on past participation via a history monitor

A system and method for controlling the flow of documents by associating Globally Unique Identifiers with each original document, each reply document, each copy document and each forwarded document, such as email messages. Historical analysis is performed on a locally stored history records containing the Globally Unique Identifiers extracted from received documents to determine which recipients are active participants and which are inactive participants, according to user preferences and thresholds. Lists for direct recipients (e.g. “To” list), carbon copy recipients, and blind copy recipients are automatically proposed to a user of a document handling system when authoring a new document, replying to a document, or forwarding a document, according to the results of the historical participation analysis, thereby stemming information flow to participants who are not active in an ad hoc asynchronous conversation.
