The method works in a way that a key component-impeller of a common spiral wing water meter is accurately designed; a feature that the impeller is co-affected by water buoyancy and gravity is employed, so water buoyancy equals to weight of water discharging liquid; comprehensive density of the impeller is designed to be close to water density, so a problem of loss due to gravity of the impeller larger than buoyancy during the work of the impeller can be solved; friction between the impeller and a center shaft can be reduced; and water meter sensitivity upon small flow can be improved.
