Abstract

The invention provides a cable filling material and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the field of materials used for preventing the phenomenon that fluid enters a conductor and thus cable damage is caused. The cable filling material and the preparation method thereof are used for solving the problems of water stopping and weak waterproof ability of a cable in the prior art. The cable filling material comprises, by weight, 20-40 parts of carbon black, 20-30 parts of polyurethane, 20-30 parts of propylene, 20-40 parts of vinyl acetate, 5-10 parts of aluminium chloride, 10-15 parts of boric acid and 3-9 parts of calcium stearate. According to the cable filling material, the preparation method is simple, and production inputs are reduced; absorbency swelling can be achieved in short time in the presence of water, hence, a water intruding opening can be tightly blocked, and water can be prevented from entering again; the waterproofing agent aluminium chloride is included, the face, not making contact with the water, of the interior of the filling material can separate the water from a cable core, and therefore water intruding can be further prevented.
