Problems solved by technology

[0004] However, some problems may be encountered when using the software access point. The IEEE802.11 specification defines the software access point as an always-on state, or remains capable of responding to requests from users trying to connect through the provided software access point. Take a point to connect to the signal of the network
In fact, even after the user leaves the software access point and the user's device is disconnected, the laptop will still maintain the software access point, so the laptop will not enter a sleep mode, but this will also cause additional power loss
[0005] In addition, although the laptop running the software access point can be forced into hibernation mode when the current user disconnection from the software access point is detected, the software access point will also be shut down accordingly
If the user wants to restore the connection between his mobile device and the software access point, the user must manually wake up the laptop's operating system (operating system, OS) (for example, by clicking on the keyboard or swiping mouse), to put the laptop into working mode and start re-establishing the software access point, but this has greatly affected the user experience

Embodiment Construction

[0036] Certain terms are used in the specification and subsequent claims to refer to particular elements. Those skilled in the art should understand that hardware manufacturers may use different terms to refer to the same component. This description and subsequent patent applications do not use the difference in name as a way to distinguish components, but use the difference in function of components as a criterion for distinguishing. The "comprising" mentioned throughout the specification and subsequent claims is an open term, so it should be interpreted as "including but not limited to". In addition, the term "coupled" herein includes any direct and indirect means of electrical connection. Therefore, if it is described that a first device is coupled to a second device, it means that the first device may be directly electrically connected to the second device, or indirectly electrically connected to the second device through other devices or connection means.

Abstract

An electronic device and an associated control method are provided. The electronic device includes a wireless circuit and a controller. The wireless circuit is arranged to provide a soft access point. The controller is arranged to detect whether there is at least one client trying to connect to the soft access point when the electronic device operates in a sleep mode; and allow the electronic device to enter a working mode from the sleep mode when detecting that there is at least one client trying to connect to the soft access point. Accordingly, when the soft access point and the electronic device are both in a sleep mode, the electronic device can be automatically waken up, without being waken up by a manual mode, thereby improving soft access point practicality. As a result, the control method can be applied to an electric device with a soft access point function, thereby solving the problem that traditionally, a user has to manually control working states of the electric device.

Description

technical field [0001] The embodiments provided by the present invention relate to power management in a wireless network environment, especially to an electronic device capable of dynamically adjusting power consumption according to a received request from a client and related methods, non-transient Computer-readable medium (non-transitory computer-readable medium). Background technique [0002] In a wireless network environment, an access point (access point, AP) is used to provide Internet access to mobile devices through a wireless network. However, in some cases it is possible that only a wired network is available and thus no access point can be provided. In order to provide Internet to mobile devices in an environment where there is only a wired network, a software-based access point (also known as Software Access Point (SoftAP)) technology has been developed. The software AP is implemented by an appropriate driver software running in an electronic device, thereby p...
