Embodiment Construction

[0074] figure 1 It is a schematic diagram which shows the whole structure of an optical film bonding system in one Embodiment which implemented the optical film bonding method of this invention. The optical film bonding system of the present embodiment sequentially includes a position adjustment station I, a surface protection film peeling station II, a first surface inspection station III, a polarized laminate bonding station IV, a second surface inspection station V, and a cutting station VI. As will be described later, the optical display unit 1 moves along the guide rail, and is transported to each station in order from the station I to the station VI using a guiding mechanism with a self-propelled function.

[0075] figure 2 An example of the optical display unit 1 that can be used in an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The planar shape of the optical display unit 1 is a rectangle having a short side 1a and a long side 1b, and a terminal portion 1c of a predet...

Abstract

The present invention is a method that uses: a cell assembly motherboard (B) constituted of a plurality of optical display cells arranged in a vertical direction on a substrate with sides having terminal parts being positioned in the transverse direction; and an optical film laminate roll (22) obtained by winding an optical film laminate wherein a carrier film (21e) is attached, via an adhesive layer, to an optical film having a width corresponding to the transverse width of the optical display cells excluding the terminal parts. This method includes: a step for conveying the cell assembly motherboard to a laminate position; a step for unrolling the optical film laminate from the roll and conveying the same to the laminate position; a step for successively forming a notch in the optical film laminate that is unrolled and the adhesive layer in the transverse direction with spacing in the direction of length corresponding to the vertical dimensions of the optical display cells and thereby forming a plurality of optical film sheets supported on the carrier film; and a step for peeling the optical film sheet from the carrier film such that the adhesive layer remains at the side of the optical film in the laminate position and successively attaching the optical film sheet to an optical display surface of the individual optical display cells on the cell assembly motherboard excluding the terminal parts.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method of bonding an optical film sheet to an optical display unit such as an organic EL display unit or a liquid crystal display unit. In particular, the present invention relates to a method of sequentially bonding optical film sheets to a plurality of rectangular optical display units with terminal portions formed on one side, wherein the terminal portions have electrical terminals for electrical connection. Background technique [0002] The optical film including the polarizer formed in a long continuous strip with a predetermined width is unrolled from the roll of optical film and cut to a predetermined length, and the cut optical film sheets are sequentially laminated on the It is transported to the liquid crystal display unit at the bonding position to form a Roll-To-Panel (RTP) bonding system and method thereof. For example, it has been disclosed in International Publication WO2009 / 128241A1 (Patent Document 1). [0...
