Abstract

The present invention relates to a system and method for controlling engine air flow. Systems and methods are presented for operating an engine during conditions where ambient humidity changes over time. In one non-limiting example, an engine air flow limit is adjusted to increase engine air flow during high humidity conditions so that the engine can provide the same torque output during high humidity conditions compared to when the engine is operated during low humidity conditions. .
