Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electrochemical cell system includes: a housing; at least one electrochemical cell within said housing and comprising an anode comprising a lithium form and an ionic liquid electrolyte within a cathode, said the cathode is separated from the anode by a solid separator impermeable to the ionic liquid electrolyte; a temperature sensor within the housing; and an environmental controller located at least partially within the housing and configured based on The input of the temperature sensor maintains the temperature within the housing at least 50°C above ambient.
