According to the remote automatic meter reading system, data of an electric power system, which is acquired by a clustered type intelligent electric meter, is transmitted to each grade of concentrated monitoring center in real time, so that uniform monitoring and distributed management of electric power monitoring equipment are realized. A GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network can provide a simple and effective communication transmission means to the electric power system; the remote automatic meter reading system has the advantages of sufficiently utilizing an existing network, shortening a construction period and reducing the construction cost; and the equipment is convenient to mount and simple to maintain, human resources can be reduced, the maintenance time is shortened and the special line construction cost is saved.
