A GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network can provide a simple and effective communication transmission means to the electric power system; the remote automatic meter reading system has the advantages of sufficiently utilizing an existing network, shortening a construction period and reducing the construction cost; and the equipment is convenient to mount and simple to maintain, human resources can be reduced, the maintenance time is shortened and the special line construction cost is saved.
