Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a networking method of a monitoring ring network and a networking device thereof. According to the networking method, networking of a monitoring ring network system is realized through one ring network switch and multiple common switches, and transmission of a multicast/broadcast message of which the source address is a gateway equipment MAC address is timely performed through an auxiliary port in case of disconnection so that the common switches influenced by disconnection are enabled to transmit monitoring data flow to the auxiliary port, and thus loss of the monitoring data flow in case of disconnection of the loop can be avoided. According to the networking method, reliable transmission of the monitoring data flow can be guaranteed through one ring network switch, and networking of the monitoring ring network system does not need to be performed by completely using the ring network switches so that the low-cost common switches and the existing common switches of users are enabled to be compatible by the monitoring ring network system, and waste of existing equipment can be avoided. Meanwhile, unification of a ring network protocol can also be guaranteed by the networking structure having only one ring network switch so that the networking difficulty and cost of the monitoring ring network system can be reduced.
