Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a detection-based fault diagnosis method and system of a service function chain. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a network topological graph of a virtual network; determining at least one detection starting node according to the in-degree and the out-degree of a service function node in the network topological graph; traversing the network topological graph through the multiple detection starting nodes to generate multiple detection paths; respectively sending an active detection packet to multiple detection paths through the detection starting nodes so as to obtain a detection result of the active detection packet; and diagnosing a fault detection path in the multiple detection paths and a fault SFC in the SFC according to the detection result of the active detection packet. Through the adoption of the detection-based fault diagnosis method and system of the service function chain provided by the embodiment of the invention, the whole network can be detected by use of small detection flow, thereby lowering the occupation degree of the network bandwidth. And the time delay of the service function node and the logic link in the SFC can be judged according to the timestamp in the active detection packet, so that the diagnosis result is more accurate.
