A silicon controlled rectifier dimming control system for LED brightness adjustment is disclosed. A dimming control circuit is improved and optimized. Through introducing a conduction angle compensation technology, when a silicon controlled rectifier dimmer is adjusted to a largest conduction angle, an output current reaches a rated output current value. Through optimizing a dimming drop-down circuit parameter, when the silicon controlled rectifier dimmer is adjusted to a minimum conduction angle, an output current reaches a minimum value which is zero. Human eyes are not sensitive to heavy current LED illumination brightness changes and are sensitive to low current LED illumination brightness changes, based on that, a dimming curve is optimized, a two-segments dimming curve of rapid dimming and slow dimming is designed and two-segment dimming is realized. Through combining a corresponding PFC control circuit, basic requirements of a high power factor required by a basic LED driving circuit, low harmonic wave pollution, stable constant current output and the like are satisfied and simultaneously wide range adjusting can be performed on the LED illumination brightness according to the silicon controlled rectifier dimmer.
