The method comprises the following steps: with the air conditioner being in refrigeration operation, performing an indoor temperature PID calculation to obtain a first frequency; detecting a heat source in a room where the air conditioner is located, determining the real-time distance between the heat source and the air conditioner, and determining a frequency corresponding to the real-time distance as a second frequency; performing a coil temperature PID calculation according to the temperature difference between a real-time coil temperature and a target coil temperature to obtain a third frequency, wherein the target coil temperature is determined according to a target indoor temperature and meets the condition that the target coil temperature is low when the target indoor temperature is low; if a real-time indoor environment temperature is not lower than a set comfortable temperature, selecting the lower frequency of the first frequency and the second frequency as a target frequency; and if the real-time indoor environment temperature is lower than a set comfortable temperature, selecting the lowest frequency of the first frequency, the second frequency and the third frequency as the target frequency.
