Abstract

An intrauterine balloon catheter for inhibiting formation of intrauterine adhesions in a mammalian uterus comprising a balloon and a sheath, wherein the balloon is at least partially attached to the inner surface of the sheath and wherein the balloon and sheath, when the balloon is inflated, conform to the size and shape of the uterus and contact the wall of the uterus. The catheter further comprises a pressure control lock, clipping unit and one or more therapeutic agents which are therapeutically effective in inhibiting intrauterine adhesion formation.
