Abstract

The invention vides a device and a method for monitoring the CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) state of a server through a BMC (Baseboard Management Controller). The device comprises a BMC, a CPLD and a storage module, wherein the BMC is connected with the CPLD for reading and detecting the data of a register and a sensor in the CPLD and judging whether the data of the register and the sensor is within a working set range or not; the BMC is also used for recording the exceptional working state of the CPLD; and the storage module is independently connected with the BMC and the CPLD for carrying out temporary storage on the monitoring information of the CPLD state. By use of the method for monitoring the CPLD state of the server through the BMC, the BMC establishes data interaction with the CPLD through a JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) interface and an I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) bus, the collection of an important monitoring signal can not be missed, and the CPLD state information of the server can be efficiently and comprehensively monitored.
