Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of servers, and provides a decision system and method for a running state of a server sequential control device. The system comprises an oscillator, a CPLDchip and a peripheral indicating circuit of a mainboard. The peripheral indicating circuit of the mainboard comprises a first LED lamp. The oscillator is used for providing a clock signal. The CPLD chip is used for the clock signal, and used for performing the frequency division processing on the clock signal through a counter, and transmitting the processed signal to the first LED lamp through an output pin of the CPLD chip. While the logic of a previous logical bit of the counter is 1, the first LED lamp is lightened; and while the logic of a latter logical bit is 1, the first LED lamp stops flickering. While the LED lamp is lightened and flickered in a fixed frequency, it is indicated that the CPLD chip is normally operated; and while the LED lamp stops the flicker, it is indicated that the CPLD chip breaks down, so the decision for the running state of the CPLD is realized, and the timeliness of the fault diagnosis is improved.
