Abstract

The application provides a method and device for protecting against a mixed DDoS attack, applied to a protective device. The method for protecting against the mixed DDoS attack comprises the followingsteps: judging whether the received traffic is DDoS attack traffic or not; performing network layer attack protection against the traffic if the traffic is the DDoS attack traffic; judging whether the size of the traffic exceeds the software processing performance or not in the case of further confirming that the destination port of the traffic is an application layer protocol port; and performing application layer attack protection against the traffic if the size of the traffic does not exceed the software processing performance. By means of the method for protecting against the mixed DDoS attack, the large traffic mixed DDoS attack can be effectively protected against, and the system abnormal operation caused by the condition that the network layer attack protection is failed can also be avoided.
