Abstract

The present invention relates to inductors for induction welding of packaging materials. An inductor for induction welding of packaging material having at least one layer of metal foil is disclosed. The inductor includes: a soldering surface configured to be disposed opposite the packaging material to heat it; and at least one spacer element configured to be disposed when the packaging material is arranged to be in contact with the packaging material. The welding surfaces protrude from the welding surface towards the packaging material in a first direction when opposed, whereby the at least one spacer element separates the packaging material from the welding surface by an offset distance. Also disclosed are a sealing machine for sealing packaging materials and a method of welding packaging materials.
