Abstract

The invention discloses an operation method of a virtual keyboard and a head-mounted display device. The operation method comprises a step of displaying the virtual keyboard on a display screen of thehead-mounted display device, a step of detecting whether a first sliding operation that an operating body slides from a first position to a second position exists or not, and a step of determining afirst selectable area corresponding to a first direction in the virtual keyboard as a selected area at least according to the first direction indicated by the first sliding operation when the first sliding operation exists. Since a technical solution for determining the selected area of the virtual keyboard according to the direction indicated when the operating body performs the sliding operation is employed and the sliding operation has a directionality of carrying out clear distinguishing, while the accuracy can be ensured, the requirements for accuracy in a user operation are reduced, therefore, the input speed can be increased, the input efficiency is improved, the need for a user to frequently shake the head during the operation of the virtual keyboard is avoided, and a defect thateasily causes the neck fatigue of the user is eliminated.
