The method comprises the steps of: providing a battery module comprising a plurality of equivalent parallel branches; in [Delta]t time that an external load current is equal to 0,measuring a parallel branch current under the action of power battery electromotive force of each parallel branch and the variable of each parallel branch current; subtracting a balance current generated under the action of the power battery electromotive force through the actual current of the parallel branch, and calculating and obtaining an internal short-circuit current generated in the action of the power battery electromotive force. The extraction method of the short-circuit current in the power battery eliminates the internal short-circuit current and the balance current generated of the battery module under the action of the external load effect at the zero-load moment when the battery module is operated.
