Abstract

The power station includes an electric machine (104) rotated by a prime mover (105). The power station includes a controller (107) for controlling the prime mover based on a speed signal representing the rotational speed of the prime mover, the oscillating signal component of which has been passed through a signal modifier (106) such as a band-stop filter inhibition. The power plant comprises a control system (101) including a frequency detection section (102) for detecting at least an oscillating frequency; and a modifying section (103) for modifying said signal modifier to suppress said oscillating signal component such that the frequency of said oscillating signal component is substantially the detected oscillating frequency. This reduces the need to manually adjust the signal modifiers.
