Abstract

An information hiding method adaptive to multi-base representation of secret information comprises the following steps of: (1) dividing a carrier image into blocks, calculating a standard deviation ofthe each block, wherein Mu is an image block mean value; keeping one significant digit of Sigma after the decimal point to obtain a standard deviation set of the image; (2) performing statistics to obtain the proportion of the each standard deviation, and determining two threshold values for complexity classification of the image blocks according to statistical distribution of the standard deviations; (3) utilizing the complexity of the image block to perform base selection of secret information, and performing multi-base processing on the secret information to obtain a secret information sequence of the image block needing to be hidden; (4) pairing adjacent pixels in the image block, performing information hiding by utilizing a diamond encoding algorithm, so as to obtain stego carrier pixel pairs; (5) processing the image block which has different complexities before and after the hiding, so as to ensure unchangeable complexity; and (6) repetitively executing the step (3) to the step(5) until the secret information is fully hidden.
